Just 15 minutes from the wonderful Laguna Grande on the banks of the Cuyabeno River is located Jamu Lodge.

At the lodge, the daily activities will take you on walks in the middle of nature enjoying the observation of birds, monkeys and other animals of the jungle. You will also have enough time to relax in the hammocks and enjoy the breathtaking sunset.

Jamu Lodge offers its visitors an accessible and fun experience by implementing a policy of minimal environmental impact with the use of energy through solar panels.

Its rustic style facilities will make you feel at home in the middle of the jungle.

All about the Jamu Lodge 4D/3N Program.

Jamu means armadillo in the Siona indigenous language, it is a privately owned lodge whose main objective is to contribute to the communities around it, producing the minimum impact on the environment. You will be able to choose between their 5, 4 and 3-Day programs.

It has double and triple cabins with private bathrooms for the comfort of its guests, a spacious dining room and a hammock room to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature.

Important Notes:

  • Prices are per person in shared tour.
  • Each guide will be in charge of 12 to 13 people maximum per group.
  • In case of food restrictions or allergies it is important that you inform when booking your tour.
  • Jamu Lodge also offers 3 Day/2 Night tours, the activities of the second day may vary depending on the organization with the groups.
  • Children from 3 to 7 years old receive a Discount of 50%
  • Single room supplement 50% of the double / matrimonial or triple room rate.
  • Guaranteed departures on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.
  • Departures every day with a minimum of three people.
  • The Tour ends in the city of Lago Agrio at approximately 15:00.
  • In groups of 15 people or more, a gratuity is applied for every 15 passengers.
  • If you require a translator service in French or German, the cost per day is $ 100.00 (minimum 4 days)
  • In the case of requiring private tour services, it will have an additional cost per person or per group.

  • The Lodge has a bar service, in the event that you bring your drinks (especially liquor) Jamu Lodge will reserve the right to uncork it; with a value of $ 15 per bottle.

  1. Day 1 Arrival

    Reception in Lago Agrio 9:30 a.m. for passengers arriving by land and 11:00 a.m. for passengers arriving by air, we will take a private transport to the entrance to Cuyabeno and then we will take a canoe towards the Lodge, during the trip you will be amazed with the beautiful vegetation around you and you will see many monkeys and countless birds and animals of the jungle, when you arrive at the lodge you will welcome you.

  2. Day 2 Exploration

    In the morning after breakfast, you will enjoy a walk of approximately 3 to 4 hours around the primary forest, accompanied by a guide who will explain about the tropical forest and medicinal plants.

    In the afternoon you will go out to see beautiful butterflies and you can swim in the lagoon, hopefully you will see the incredible pink dolphins and enjoy the sunset.

    At night we will do a nocturnal activity looking for alligators on the banks of the river.

  3. Day 3 Visit to a native family

    In the morning after breakfast we will move downriver by canoe to visit a native family of the place where we will learn some of their customs and traditions. This activity will last all day.

    Then we will take a short walk through the primary forest to observe nocturnal insects.

  4. Day 4 Return

    In the morning before breakfast you will have a small bird watching excursion, then we will return to the lodge for breakfast and check out at 9:30 AM, from the lodge you will have a transfer to Lago Agrio.

Accommodation

Jamu Lodge has 3 cabins with 2 double rooms and 2 towers with 8 double rooms and 2 triple rooms. Its design and construction is based on a traditional, rustic style with high thatched roofs. Each room has a private bathroom, hot water and mosquito nets.

The Jamu Lodge facilities also have a spacious dining room that is the heart of the lodge where its professional chef will be in charge of delighting your palate in a mixture of Ecuadorian and international cuisine with the most delicious meals prepared with fresh and local ingredients. Also, enjoy a tasty cocktail or a cold beer in the bar and relax with the sound of nature in the midst of a pure and comfortable environment in the hammock lounge.

Jamu Lodge has capacity for 38 people.

For children from 0 to 3 years the discount is 100% and for children from 3 to 7 years the discount is 50% of the rate.

The increase for a single room is 50% of the rate for a double / matrimonial or triple room.

For the jungle we recommend to bring:

  • Long pants and long-sleeved shirts for excursions
  • Cotton shorts and short-sleeved shirts for your relaxation time at the lodge.

Electricity is produced through solar panels with a capacity of 110wtz. We have connectors in the social areas, where you can recharge your camera and other electronic equipment.
