The insurance is very important and we recommend each guest purchases an insurance that covers cancellation, trip interruption, accidents, medical while in Ecuador, baggage loss and, if applicable, equipment (dive & photography) insurance. Dive insurance is mandatory and must cover both the recompression chamber and evacuation. It is important that you understand the coverage the policy offers and any limitations that may exist on claims made. Some policies offer a liveaboard rider (insurance) that includes additional specific coverage beyond trip cancellation and interruption, to include scenarios that are unique to liveaboard vacations such as missed liveaboard departures due to airline delays, mechanical failures of liveaboard yacht, inclement weather, medical inability to dive and other incidents.

In the case children ages 12-14, with a minimum certification of PADI Junior Rescue and who have the prerequisite number of logged dives, may dive when accompanied by an experienced diving parent.

In that case, hiring a private dive guide (for an extra cost) is possible for those who are too inexperienced.

We do ask for experience in strong currents, cold water and with drift dives. If you ever have a question about whether or not someone short of the suggested logged dives is qualified, please feel free to contact us and we can look at it together.

We will also be asking for a Diver Application Form in order to confirm the reservation and then the Dive Booking Form and waiver are due 90 days prior to departure. The Pre-Trip Information sheet gives an accurate description of how advanced & remote Galapagos diving is and asks divers to self-access to determine if they are experienced enough to handle it.
