All about the Rodeo Montubio Costeño.

In Ecuador, on October 12, the Day of Interculturality and Plurinationality is commemorated, for this reason on the Ecuadorian coast the traditional Montubio rodeo is celebrated where participants put their skills to the test.

Within the Rodeo Montubio activities such as:

  • Choosing the “Pretty Criolla”, several representatives of each farm participate in this activity.
  • Choosing of Miss Rodeo, this is a contest where women of different ages expose their skills as horsewomen, in this contest they are considered acrobatics, horse dances.
  • El Capo is about a contest where the riders must hold the reins of the horse with one hand for a minimum time of 8 seconds.
  • The Caracoleo, this contest aims for the rider to ride a horse that has not been tamed for at least 8 seconds.

This festival is held in different provinces of the Ecuadorian coast such as: Guayas, EL Oro, Los Ríos and Manabí.
